	04)JAGag24810
	SAMと/usr/contrib/bin/machinfoコマンド(現在使用できるのはIntegrityサー

	07)JAGaf95076
	ログインイベントの監査を有効にする際に、SAMが/etc/rc.config.d/auditing

Disk Devices"

	04)JAGag24810
	SAMと/usr/contrib/bin/machinfoコマンド(現在使用できるのはIntegrityサー
パッチPHCO_33751が適用されている場合、machinfo(1)

	/usr/contrib/bin/machinfoがインストールされたマシンでは、machinfo(1)が

	Online JFS

	SAMは/etc/rc.config.d/auditingファイル内に不正なエントリを作成していま

Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHCO_34974

Symptoms:
	PHCO_34974:
JAGaf89974) SAM needs to support the new
	            RoHS PCI mux card.
JAGag00289) The response time of SAM's Disk
	            Devices sub-area under Disks and
	            File Systems is too long.
JAGag04946) SAM does not re-enable the print
	            spooler when multiple printers are
	            removed simultaneously.
JAGag24810) CPU clock frequency displayed by SAM
can differ from what is displayed by the
	            command /usr/contrib/bin/machinfo (currently
	            available on Integrity Servers only).
JAGag13171) While adding a user through SAM,
	            any directories in /etc/skel are
	            not copied.
JAGaf98895) SAM does not properly detect OnlineJFS
	            version 3.5 which comes with 11.23 0603
	            version.
JAGaf95076) SAM makes incorrect entries into the file
	            /etc/rc.config.d/auditing while enabling
	            auditing for login event.
JAGag11000) SAM doesn't display correct minimum MTU for
	            IGELAN driver.
JAGag10997) SAM doesn't display correct minimum MTU for
	            IETHER driver.
JAGag18919) SAM configures read-mostly file systems
	            incorrectly.
JAGaf94483) SAM is unable to parse the automounter files
	            properly.
JAGag30161) Network services in SAM shows ftp disabled
	            when ftp is enabled.

	PHCO_34208:
JAGaf52052) SAM added a duplicate line to the /etc/ntp.conf
	            file in the following scenario:
A local clock is added from SAM -> Time -> NTP
Network Time Sources -> Actions -> Configure
NTP Local Clock and "Local Clock" is chosen.
The local clock is removed from Actions ->
Configure NTP Local Clock and "No clock" is
chosen and again the local clock is added.
JAGaf71084) On entering the SAM -> Disks and Filesystems
-> Filesystem subarea, SAM failed to parse the
		    master automounter file /etc/auto_master.
JAGaf79629) When trying to extend a filesystem with SAM and
	            OnlineJFS B.11.23.0505, the following error
		    message is displayed:
		    =============================================
	            Executing the following command:
		    \C/usr/sbin/vxlicense -p >/dev/null 2>&1 && (
	            /sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef | /usr/bin/fgrep -i
		    Full_VxFS )\C
Command completed with exit status 1.
		    =============================================
JAGaf89626) SAM needs to support EVA GL active/active arrays
which identify themselves as HSV101 and HSV111.
JAGaf91728) SAM does not warn users about temporary
	            passwords in trusted system.
JAGaf90309) SAM does not recognize VxFS4.1 file systems.
JAGaf96179) Previous 11iv2 patch PHCO_32870 is not DRD
	            friendly.

	PHCO_32870:
JAGaf78558) SAM does not support HP StorageWorks MSA1000
	            storage device.

JAGaf34478) After the new user is added using SAM with
password option set to "Normal Behavior (No
Restrictions)" and password set to null, a new
user is forced to change the password when the
user logs on to the system.

JAGaf36625) In the ObAM description file
	            /usr/sam/lib/C/ts.ui, there is a nested
comment, which may result in a abnormal
termination of the trusted system subarea.

JAGaf48418) The samreg script kills processes other than
	            samd.

JAGaf55627) SAM cannot be used to configure auditing in the
	            standard mode.

JAGaf56145) The HP LTO448 tape drive reports itself to the
HP-UX operating system as "HP Ultrium 2-SCSI"
in response to the SCSI inquiry. SAM then
incorrectly reports the drive as "HP Ultrium
		    460 External Drive".

JAGaf60231) If the nodename and hostname are different, SAM
does not allow users to enter the "Hosts"
functional area, and does not even display a
		    warning message.

JAGaf67078) On entering the SAM -> Networking and
Communications -> Name Service Switch subarea,
on selecting the passwd service, and selecting
the Configure Name Service Switch action item,
the Configure Name Service Switch screen is
displayed. In that screen, on modifying the
"+/- Syntax", SAM does not update the
		    /etc/nsswitch.conf file properly.

JAGaf70085) On entering the SAM -> Networking and
Communications -> Name Service Switch subarea,
and while modifying the name service switch
settings for any service in the Configure Name
Service Switch screen, SAM does not display
the current settings of that service properly.

JAGaf73579) SAM's postinstall scripts remove files from
	            the filesystem.

JAGaf74254) SAM must be enhanced to support the XP12000
	            disk array.

JAGaf74406) On entering the SAM -> Printers and Plotters
subarea, SAM displays the following error
message and the printers are not listed in
		    SAM:

		    ===========================================
An unexpected error has occurred retrieving
		    information about printers ...
		    ===========================================

JAGaf74954) On entering the SAM -> Disks and File Systems
subarea each time, SAM leaves a temporary
device file transformer_dev in the /var/sam
directory when the HP-UX system is attached to
		    the transformer device.

JAGaf75335) SAM must be enhanced to support the VxVM
	            enclosure-based naming scheme.

JAGaf75336) SAM fails to extend the volume group while
	            vgextend(1m) succeeds.

JAGaf75338) On a trusted system, SAM dumps core in the
SAM -> Auditing and Security -> Audited
		    Events screen.

JAGaf76270) On entering the SAM -> Disks and File Systems
-> Disk Devices subarea, SAM does not correctly
detect multiple paths for EVA XL arrays.

JAGaf76271) SAM man pages are not clear about the
restricted SAM user's user and group
	            privileges.

	PHCO_31926:
JAGaf37581) Enhance SAM to support configuration of IP
address and driver parameters for the
10GBASE-SR card in the SAM -> Networking and
	            Communications -> Network Interface Cards
	            subarea.

JAGaf37986) The sub-areas under SAM Auditing and Security's
Authenticated Commands functional area are not
	            accessible in 11.23.0409.

JAGaf42475) SAM does not support long hostname.

JAGaf51210) The Networking and Communications sub area of
SAM needs to support long hostname with length
	            upto 255 characters.

	PHCO_31628:
JAGaf16710) The TUI feature for kernel configuration
functional area and "Cards and Devices" subarea
in the peripheral devices functional area is
not documented in the SAM manpage. Also, shadow
mode support from SAM "Users and Groups"
functional area is not documented in the sam.1m
	            manpage.

	PHCO_31820:
JAGae78372) On entering "SAM -> Networking and
Communications -> Bootable Devices -> DHCP
Device Group Booting from this Server" subarea,
SAM exits with the following error message:
		    ----------------------------------------------
		    UNEXPECTED EXIT: process LANG=C LC_ALL=C
		    /usr/sam/lbin/samx -c -n -p
		    4560 -s bootp_sa_dhcp_groups
		    /usr/sam/lib//boot.us exited with a non-
		    zero exit status.
		    sh: 4643 memory fault(coredump)
		    ----------------------------------------------
When SAM is used to manage DHCP pools, one can
specify IP addresses or ranges of IP addresses
to exclude from the pool. The error message is
displayed if the exclusion list is more than
		    4096 bytes.

JAGae84402) Enhance SAM to support password aging and
account lifetime features in SAM -> Account for
Users and Groups -> Users area when the system
		    is shadow mode.

JAGae86120) When the FC60 LUNs report the world wide
identifier of NAA16 disks, SAM does not display
the number of paths and LUNs correctly in the
"SAM -> Disks and File Systems -> Disk Devices"
		    subarea.

JAGae89490) On a system with Securepath software installed,
"SAM -> Disk and FileSystems -> Disk Devices"
subarea does not display the number of paths
for EVA HSV110 disk array correctly.

JAGae98452) When the FC60 LUNs report the world wide
identifier of NAA16 disks, SAM does not display
the number of paths and LUNs correctly in the
"SAM -> Disks and File Systems -> Disk Devices"
		    subarea.

JAGae98694) On a system that has active and inactive volume
groups, creation of a new volume group, say
		    vgtest1, intermittently displays an error
		    message like:
		    -----------------------------------------------
vgcreate: Minor number of /dev/vgtest1/group is
		    not unique.
/dev/vgtest2/group has the same minor number.
		    -----------------------------------------------

JAGaf06223) On entering "SAM -> Networking and
Communications -> Hosts -> Local Hosts File"
subarea, SAM exits with the following error
		    message:
		    -----------------------------------------------
		    UNEXPECTED EXIT: process LANG=C LC_ALL=C
		    /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -n -p 17908 -s
		    hosts_init_file /usr/sam/lib//hosts.ui exited
	            with a non-zero exit status.
		    sh:18025 Bus error(coredump).
		    -----------------------------------------------

JAGaf07880) SAM allows the GID of the special system group
"nogroup" to be modified in the following
		    scenario:
Enter "SAM -> Accounts For Users and groups
-> Groups" subarea and select the group
"nogroup". Choose the "Modify" menu item from
the "Actions" menu and change the value in the
		    field "Group Id".

JAGaf09893) When the ch_rc(1M) command encounters an
incomplete last line of a file, it removes one
character from the end of the line.

JAGaf10354) When SAM is used to convert a system into
trusted mode with the super user root having a
non-standard primary group, the files and
directories under the trusted database, "/tcb/"
are created with an inappropriate group.

JAGaf12788) SAM displays junk values against the "Configure
Aliases..." button in the "Modify Host in File"
screen. Also, SAM displays an empty "Configure
Aliases" screen on choosing the "Configure
Aliases" button in the following scenario:
Enter "SAM -> Networking and Communications
-> Hosts -> Local Hosts" subarea, select an
entry and choose the "Modify" menu item from
		    the "Actions" menu.

JAGaf12814) In the following scenarios, SAM does not behave
correctly in the "Accounts for Users and Groups"
		    functional area:
		    1. The "Create Home Directory" toggle is
displayed in the "Modify User" screen even
before the home directory entry is modified.
		    2. While removing a user (on a NIS system with 2
password files), the user's files can be re-
assigned to a user in the other repository.
		    3. While adding or modifying a user, duplicate
UIDs and Login names across repositories are not
detected on a NIS system with 2 password files.

JAGaf14390) On entering "SAM -> Disk and File systems
-> File systems" and "SAM -> Networking and
	            Communications -> Network File systems
-> Mounted Remote FileSystems" subareas, SAM
exits with a memory fault. This error occurs
if the size of the automounter map is larger
	            than 4096 bytes.

JAGaf14809) SAM incorrectly displays the value of the "Flow
Control" field for gelan, igelan and iether
cards as 'ON' in the following scenario:
Enter "SAM -> Networking and Communications
-> Network Interface Cards" subarea. Select an
gelan, igelan or iether card and select the
"Modify" menu item from the "Actions" menu. In
the "Configure LAN Card" screen, select the
"Advanced Options" button. In the "Advanced
Options" screen, set the "Flow Control" field
to OFF, exit the "Advanced Options" screen and
again go to the "Advanced Options" screen.

JAGaf15421) SAM does not allow modification of IP address
and host name in the SAM -> Networking and
		    Communications -> Hosts subarea.

JAGaf16820) On a system that supports HP OnLineJFS product,
SAM displays the same VxFS Mount Option for a
VxFS filesystem even after modifying the VxFS
		    mount option through SAM.

JAGaf17971) The following entry is logged in the
	            /var/adm/sw/swagent.log file while upgrading
upgrading from HP-UX 11.11 release to
	            HP-UX 11.23 release:
	            -----------------------------------------------
	            rm: //usr/sam/lbin/samd not removed.
	            Text file busy
	            -----------------------------------------------

JAGaf20017) For a VxFS filesystem, the VxFS Mount Options
visible through SAM should display the option
		    "Enable/Disable Synchronous-Write Data Logging"
only if HP OnLineJFS product is installed.

JAGaf20420) SAM incorrectly updates the file /etc/dhcptab
if the start and end address for an entry is
the same in the "Reserved Address in Address
Pool" screen in the following scenario:
Enter "SAM -> Networking and Communications
-> Bootable Devices -> DHCP Device Group
Booting from this Server" subarea, select the
"Add DHCP Group" menu item from the "Actions"
menu. In the "Add DHCP Group" screen, select
"Subnet Address Pool -> Reserved Address".

JAGaf22147) SAM must be enhanced to support Large send
feature for iether and igelan cards, and
Interrupt Throttling mode for iether cards.

JAGaf22501) SAM does not set "Force password change upon
next Login" option for user created using
user template with Password Option "Force
Password change upon next Login" when user's
password is NULL. Thus, user is not forced to
		    change password upon login.

JAGaf23716) The following message appears at the console
after upgrading from HP-UX 11.11 release to
	            HP-UX 11.23 release:
	            -----------------------------------------------
INIT: Command is respawning too rapidly.
Will try again in 5 minutes.
	            Check for possible errors.
	            id:samd "/usr/sam/lbin/samd # system mgmt
	            daemon"
	            -----------------------------------------------

JAGaf27185) Enhance SAM to support Virtual LAN management
under SAM -> Networking and Communications.

JAGaf27341) SAM must not display VLAN(Virtual LAN)
interfaces under SAM -> Networking and
	            Communications-> Network Interface Cards area.

JAGaf26699) Restricted SAM does not operate correctly
when converting system to trusted mode.

JAGaf28870) The "System Properties" functional area of SAM
reports incorrect number of unique users
	            logged into the system.

JAGaf28881) On a system running in shadow mode, when
a user template created without "Enable
Password Aging" option is being modified,
the range displayed for "Password Expiration
Time" and "Minimum Time Between Password
Changes" is in weeks instead of days.
Also, when a user is added without
selecting "Set Password Option", the "Account
Lifetime" for that user is still being set.

JAGaf29531) SAM displays Speed, Duplex and Auto
negotiation fields in the Modify screen of IP
	            logical interfaces.

JAGaf30923) The online help of SAM -> Networking and
		    Communications -> Network Interface Cards
subarea does not capture the information that
while a user is modifying driver parameters for
an interface from SAM, the user must ensure that
IP parameters for that interface is also
		    configured.

JAGaf30154) The grep command fails while trying to grep
for an IP address from the output of
		    /usr/sam/lbin/laninfo command.

JAGaf31514) SAM does not display the Auto negotiation field
above Speed, and Duplex fields in the Configure
LAN Card screen of GELAN and IHV cards.

JAGaf32099) For an EVA disk array, SAM -> Disks and
FileSystems -> Disk Devices subarea displays
the alternate path to a disk as a separate
LUN if the device identifier bytes do not
		    match.

JAGaf32828) Support for enabling or disabling IPv6
tunneling in SAM -> Networking and
		    Communications -> Network Interface Cards
		    subarea must be removed.

JAGaf32861) In the following scenarios, SAM does not behave
correctly in the Accounts for Users and Groups
-> Users subarea when system is in shadow mode:
		    1. The Account Lifetime value is not displayed
in some cases while modifying a user.
	            2. Account Lifetime is being set in few cases,
even when it is cancelled, during addition
		       of a user.

	PHCO_29666:
JAGaf01237) Enhance SAM to support the IPoIB LAN interface.

JAGaf10166) SAM does not create the SNAP interface in the
	            following scenario:
Enter the "SAM -> Networking and Communications
-> Network Interface Cards" subarea, select an
interface in disabled state and choose the
"Modify" menu item from the "Actions" menu.
Change the card type (for example,
	            "Fast Ethernet-Ethernet" to
	            "Fast Ethernet-SNAP802.3") and click OK.

JAGaf10167) SAM incorrectly updates the file /etc/hosts
with a duplicate IP address even though it
correctly displays an error in the following
		    scenario:
Enter "SAM -> Networking and Communications
-> Network Interface Cards" subarea, select
an interface; choose the "Modify" menu item
from the "Actions" menu, and enter the IP
address that is already assigned to
Hyperfabric adapter or Auto Port Aggregation
	            (APA).

Defect Description:
	PHCO_34974:
JAGaf89974) SAM needs to support the new RoHS
PCI mux card which uses pci_mux1 driver.
Resolution: Now, SAM supports the new RoHS PCI
mux card which uses the driver pci_mux1.
JAGag00289) The response time of SAM's Disk
Devices sub-area under Disks and File
Systems is too long when connected to a
large Disk array configured with multiple
	            paths.
Resolution: The response time of SAM's Disk Devices
sub area has been improved by approximately
40 percent by using a better algorithm to
	            detect multiple paths.
JAGag04946) When using SAM to remove multiple
printers simultaneously, SAM does not re-enable
	            the print spooler when done.
Resolution: By removing the race condition which caused the
ambiguity, SAM now re-enables the print
	            spooler.
JAGag24810) CPU clock frequency displayed by SAM
can differ from what is displayed by the
	            command /usr/contrib/bin/machinfo (currently
available on Integrity Servers only). A Dual-
core Itanium 2 based machine has two
	            frequencies - ITC frequency
and Core frequency. Machinfo (1) was patched in
PHCO_33751 to display the Core frequency
instead of the ITC frequency whereas SAM was
	            displaying only the ITC frequency.
Resolution: SAM code has been modified to also display
the CPU Core frequency as reported by machinfo
	            (1) on machines that have
	            /usr/contrib/bin/machinfo installed.
JAGag13171) SAM fails to copy any directories in
/etc/skel because the program it uses
	            can only copy files.
Resolution: SAM code has been modified to copy both
	            files and directories from /etc/skel.
JAGaf98895) SAM does not properly detect OnlineJFS
version 3.5 which comes with 11.23 0603 version
because the test for detecting Online JFS 3.5
	            is incorrect.
Resolution: The command executed to verify that
Online JFS is licensed has been corrected.
JAGaf95076) SAM makes incorrect entries into the file
	            /etc/rc.config.d/auditing while enabling
auditing for login event for both Success and
Failure because logoff is not filtered out of
the output of the /usr/sbin/audevent command.
Resolution: SAM's code has been modified to filter out
	            logoff from the output of
	            the /usr/sbin/audevent command.
JAGag11000) IGELAN drivers are updated to support MTU as
low as 257 bytes instead of the 1024 minimum.
SAM needs to be updated to display the new
	            minimum.
Resolution: SAM code is modified to support the new minimum
	            value of MTU.
JAGag10997) IETHER drivers are updated to support MTU as
low as 257 bytes instead of the 1024 minimum.
SAM needs to be updated to display the new
	            minimum.
Resolution: SAM code is modified to support the new minimum
	            value of MTU.
JAGag18919) SAM configures read-mostly file systems
incorrectly. When there is an entry in
both read-write list and read-only list
of export file systems, SAM removes
	            the entry from read-only list.
Resolution: SAM code is modified to keep the existing
	            entries in both the lists.
JAGaf94483) SAM is unable to parse the automounter
files properly when a single line
information is typed in two lines with "\"
followed by whitespace at the end of
	            first line.
Resolution: SAM code is modified to handle the scenario
if whitespace characters are present between
	            "\" and new line character.
JAGag30161) Network services in SAM shows ftp
disabled if ftp is enabled when
ftp-data port is not specified in the
	            /etc/services file.
Resolution: SAM code is modified to handle this
	            scenario (ftp-data port is disabled)
	            to describe the status.

	PHCO_34208:
JAGaf52052) SAM adds a duplicate line to the /etc/ntp.conf
	            file in the following scenario:
A local clock is added from SAM -> Time -> NTP
Network Time Sources -> Actions -> Configure
NTP Local Clock and "Local Clock" is chosen.
The local clock is removed from Actions ->
Configure NTP Local Clock and "No clock" is
chosen and again the local clock is added.
Resolution: Now, SAM does not add a duplicate line to the
/etc/ntp.conf file when a local is added,
		    removed and added again.
JAGaf71084) SAM failed to parse the master automounter file
/etc/auto_master because SAM could not parse
		    numerically named file systems.
Resolution: SAM code has been modified and it now parses
	            the master automounter file properly.
JAGaf79629) SAM is not calling the right licence detection
command from the right directory location
regardless of whether VxFS version is 3.5 or
		    4.1.
Resolution: Now, SAM extends the file system properly with
	            OnlineJFS B.11.23.05.05.
JAGaf89626) SAM needs to support EVA GL active/active arrays
which identify themselves as HSV101 and HSV111
	            drivers.
Resolution: Now, SAM supports EVA GL (EVA3000/EVA5000)
	            active/active arrays.
JAGaf91728) SAM does not warn users about temporary
passwords in trusted system due to insufficient
		    SAM documentation and warnings.
Resolution: SAM code has been modified to display warning
messages to users about temporary passwords.
SAM online help system has also been updated.
JAGaf90309) SAM does not recognize VxFS4.1 file systems.
Resolution: Now, SAM recognizes VxFs4.1 file systems.
JAGaf96179) Previous 11iv2 patch PHCO_32870 is not DRD
friendly. If another SAM application is
running, then the DRD installation of the SAM
	            patch does not proceed.
Resolution: In the checkinstall and checkremove script, a
condition has been added to check if it is a
DRD installation, Now the contents of the
script are executed only if it is not a
	            DRD install.

	PHCO_32870:
JAGaf78558) SAM has no support for MSA1000 disk array and
consequently the disk array LUNs with
	            multipaths are incorrectly displayed.
Resolution: SAM is modified to support MSA1000.

JAGaf34478) When a user created with a null password and
password options set to "Normal Behaviour" logs
into the system, the following message is
		    emitted:

		    ============================================
Your password has expired. Choose a new one
	            Changing password for user1
	            New password:
	            ============================================
Resolution: SAM has been modified such that a new user is
not forced to change the password after a new
user is added with password option set to
		    "Normal Behavior (No Restrictions)" and
		    password set to null.

JAGaf36625) In the ObAM description file
	            /usr/sam/lib/C/ts.ui, there is a nested
comment, which may result in a abnormal
termination of the trusted system subarea.
Resolution: The nested comment has been fixed in the
	            ObAM description file /usr/sam/lib/C/ts.ui.

JAGaf48418) The samreg script matches any string containing
	            "samd" and kills other programs.
Resolution: The samreg script has been modified such that
only the samd process is killed.

JAGaf55627) As user cannot use aud* commands in standard
mode, SAM cannot be used to configure auditing
		    in the standard mode.
Resolution: SAM has been modified such that if the
	            TrustedMigration product is installed, users
can configure auditing in the standard mode for
Audited Events and Audited System Calls.

When the system is converted into standard mode
from trusted, the location of the audit logs
will be lost. Also the audit log data is lost
if the audit logs are located in the
	            "/.secure" directory. If TrustedMigration
Product is installed, Auditing can be restored
on the system by reconfiguring audit log
parameters and turning auditing on again after
	            conversion.

JAGaf56145) SAM incorrectly reports the LTO 448 tape drive
because the description string that SAM
displays for LTO 448 tape drive is not unique.
Resolution: SAM displays the LTO 448 tape drive correctly.

JAGaf60231) If the hostname and nodename are different in
the system, SAM does not allow the user to
enter the Hosts functional area until both
		    are same.
Resolution: SAM now displays a warning message and allows
the user to enter the Hosts functional area.

JAGaf67078) The 'passwd: compat' option was entered
correctly in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file by SAM
but there was another syntax added to the file,
which was incorrect, and locked out the local
		    users from logging in.
Resolution: SAM updates the /etc/nsswitch.conf file
	            properly.

JAGaf70085) In the Name Service Switch subarea, on
selecting a service and entering the "Configure
Name Service Switch..." screen, the search order
selections displayed do not reflect the current
settings stored for that service in the
		    /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to display the search
order selections properly in the "Configure
Name Service Switch..." screen for any service.

JAGaf73579) SAM's postinstall scripts remove files from
	            the filesystem.
Resolution: SAM's postinstall scripts do not remove files
	            from the filesystem.

JAGaf74254) SAM must be enhanced to support the XP12000
	            disk array.
Resolution: SAM has been enhanced to support the XP12000
	            disk array.

JAGaf74406) SAM displays an error message in the Printers
and Plotters subarea and does not display
printers if a printer is disabled with a -r
		    option.
Resolution: SAM displays all the printers even if a printer
is disabled with a -r option.

	JAGaf74954) On a HP-UX 11.23 v1 superdome system with EMC
8530 disk array attached, and HP StorageWorks
		    DS2300 (A6490AZ) installed, a temporary device
file transformer_dev is not removed by SAM in
		    the /var/sam directory.
Resolution: SAM cleans up the temporary transformer
device file on exiting the SAM -> Disks
and File Systems subarea when the HP-UX
system is attached to the transformer device.

JAGaf75335) When using VxVM 3.5, changing the naming
scheme for disks to "enclosure based names"
using the vxdiskadm command option 20 causes
SAM -> Disks and Filesystems area to display
the following error message for each disk:

		    =============================================
NOTE The Logical Volume Manager shows this
		    device file, /dev/dsk/Disk_0, with hardware
path, , as belonging to Volume Group, rootdg.
SAM has determined that this hardware path is
not currently active because either the device
is disconnected, or this is not the primary
path to a multiple path physical volume.
		    ==============================================
Resolution: SAM has been enhanced to support VxVM
	            enclosure-based naming scheme.

JAGaf75336) SAM fails to extend the volume group while
	            vgextend(1m) succeeds.
Resolution: SAM extends the volume group properly.

JAGaf75338) On a trusted system, SAM dumps core in the
SAM -> Auditing and Security -> Audited
Events screen. Change the open event to
"Audit for Success Only" and change all other
event types to "Audit Neither Success nor
Failure". Go to the "List" menu item change to
"Audited System Calls change execv and execve
to "Audit Both Success and Failure". Go to the
"List" menu item and change to "Audited
Events". The following error message is
		    displayed:

		    ==============================================
	            UNEXPECTED EXIT: process LANG=C LC_ALL=C
		    /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -p 9538 -s ts_events
		    /usr/sam/lib//ts.ui exited with a non-zero exit
		    status.
		    sh: 9643 Bus error(coredump)
		    ===============================================
Resolution: On a trusted system, SAM works properly in the
SAM -> Auditing and Security -> Audited Events
		    screen.

JAGaf76270) The Disk Devices screen of SAM incorrectly
collapses LUNs of EVA XL arrays like EVA 4000/
		    6000.
Resolution: SAM has been changed to correctly detect
all paths for EVA XL arrays.

JAGaf76271) On invoking the "sam -f user_name" command,
where the user "user_name" belongs to a
secondary group that has restricted SAM
privileges, the following error message is
		    displayed:

		    ===============================================
Could not read the contents of the control file
	            "/etc/sam/custom/<username>.cf".
		    ===============================================
Resolution: SAM man pages have been modified to correctly
advise how to grant restricted SAM privileges.

	PHCO_31926:
JAGaf37581) SAM does not support configuration of IP
address and driver parameters for the
10GBASE-SR card in the SAM -> Networking and
	            Communications -> Network Interface Cards
	            subarea.
Resolution: SAM has been enhanced to support the
configuration of IP address and driver
parameters for the 10GBASE-SR card in the
SAM -> Networking and Communications -> Network
	            Interface Cards subarea.

JAGaf37986) Upon entering SAM -> Auditing and Security ->
Authenticated Commands area and selecting any
of the subareas under it, the following message
	            is displayed:
"Check the PAM configuration file for
	            errors..."
Upon pressing OK, the following error message is
	            displayed:
"At least one entry in the PAM configuration
file (/etc/pam.conf) is invalid. The format for
	            each entry is:
The command, auth type, control flag and module
fields are all required; the module options
field is optional. Check the SAM log to
determine which PAM configuration file entries
	            are not valid.
These entries must be corrected or removed
before SAM can be used to manage the file."
Resolution: SAM has been modified to recognize the pam_hpsec
	            (5) entries.

JAGaf42475) SAM functional areas "Backup and
	            Recovery", "Printers and Plotters", "Routine
Tasks" and "Performance Monitors -> System
Properties" subarea and samlog_viewer(1) do not
	            support long hostname.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to support long hostname.
However, due to some system limitations, SAM
truncates the hostname displayed on the title
	            bars of windows it creates.

JAGaf51210) The Networking and Communications sub area of
SAM does not support long hostname with length
	            upto 255 characters.
Resolution: The Networking and Communications sub area of
SAM supports long hostname with length upto 255
	            characters. However, the SNAplus2 Installation
area, the APA area, the HyperFabric area, the
X.25 PAD Services area, and the support for
X.25 and ATM interfaces from the Network
Interface Cards area does not support long
hostname with length upto 255 characters.

JAGaf16710) The TUI feature for kernel configuration
functional area and "Cards and Devices" subarea
in the peripheral devices functional area needs
to be documented in the SAM manpage.
Also, shadow mode support from SAM "Users and
Groups" functional area needs to be documented
	            in the sam.1m manpage.
Resolution: SAM manpage has been updated to document the
TUI feature for kernel configuration functional
area and "Cards and Devices" subarea in the
	            peripheral devices functional area. Also,
shadow mode support from SAM "Users and Groups"
functional area is documented in the sam.1m
	            manpage.

	PHCO_31820:
JAGae78372) On entering "SAM-> Networking and
Communications -> Bootable Devices -> DHCP
Device Groups Booting From this Server"
subarea, select the desktops' DHCP Group Name
that is listed, choose the Modify menu item
and click the OK button. If the size of an
entry in the file /etc/dhcptab is more than 4K
(4096 bytes), SAM exits with a memory fault due
to an error in the memory management routine.
Resolution: SAM is modified to handle large /etc/dhcptab
		    files upto 32768 bytes.

JAGae84402) On entering any area under SAM-> Accounts for
Users and Groups, SAM detects the existence of
/etc/shadow file and displays a message that
shadow mode is not supported. It is not able to
utilize the password aging information present
in /etc/shadow to display and manage the
password aging parameters of a user.
Resolution: SAM has been enhanced to support and manage two
new password aging features present in the
		    shadow(4) file, /etc/shadow, namely the
		    warn days and expiration.

JAGae86120) SAM collapses the FC60 LUNs if the LUNs report
the worldwide identifier in Name Address
		    Authority (NAA) IEEE registered extended
format. The information displayed in the "SAM
-> Disk Devices" screen does not match with the
output of the command /opt/hparray/bin/amdsp -l

Resolution: Now, the FC60 LUNs having the NAA worldwide
identifier are displayed in the SAM -> Disk
Devices screen and the information about the
FC60 LUNs matches with the output of the
		    command /opt/hparray/bin/amdsp -l.

JAGae89490) On a system with Securepath software installed,
"SAM -> Disk and FileSystems -> Disk Devices"
subarea does not compute the number of paths
for EVA HSV110 disk array correctly.
Resolution: SAM code has been modified to compute the
number of paths for EVA HSV110 disk array
		    correctly.

JAGae98452) The information about FC60 LUNs shown in the
SAM Disk Devices screen does not match with the
		    output of /opt/hparray/bin/amdsp -l < serial
number of the FC60 array> command.
Resolution: The information about FC60 LUNs shown in the
SAM Disk Devices screen matches with the output
		    of /opt/hparray/bin/amdsp -l < FC60 disk array
		    serial number> command

JAGae98694) SAM uses incorrect parser to obtain a non-
		    activated volume group information. SAM
incorrectly detects the minor number assigned
to the volume group, vgtest2, as free and uses
it to create the group file for vgtest1. Later,
vgcreate detects the duplicate minor number and
		    displays the error message.
Resolution: The parsing method in SAM to obtain the
inactive volume group information has been
		    corrected.

JAGaf06223) On entering "SAM -> Networking and
Communications -> Hosts -> Local Hosts File"
subarea, SAM exits with a memory fault. The
error occurs when /etc/hosts file is larger
		    than 4096 bytes.
Resolution: SAM is modified to handle large /etc/hosts
		    files upto 32768 bytes.

JAGaf07880) SAM does not check if the GID to be modified
belongs to the special system group "no group".
Resolution: SAM has been modified to disallow modification
of the GID for a special system group "no
		    group".

JAGaf09893) If a file has an incomplete last line,
ch_rc(1M) corrupts the contents of the file by
removing one character from the end of the line
Resolution: ch_rc(1M) command does not corrupt the contents
of the file by removing one character from the
		    end of the line.

JAGaf10354) SAM does not check the primary group of
superuser root during initialization and as a
result, files and directories are created with
		    the non-standard effective group when
converting a system to trusted mode.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to provide an option to
the user, before the functional area launcher
is displayed, to either change the group to
"sys" which is the standard primary group for
root or proceed with the current non-standard
		    group for root.

JAGaf12788) SAM is not updating the value for number of
configured hostname aliases correctly. As a
result, a junk value is displayed. Since the
value for the number of configured hostname
aliases is not correct, SAM fails to display
		    the configured hostname aliases.
Resolution: SAM correctly updates the value for number of
		    configured aliases.

JAGaf12814) In the following scenarios, SAM does not behave
correctly in the "Accounts for Users and
		    Groups" functional area:
		    1. On entering SAM -> Accounts for Users and
Groups functional area, and on choosing one of
the subareas (Users, Local Users, NIS Users),
the "Create Home Directory" toggle appears even
before the home directory entry is changed
		    while modifying a user.
		    2. When a Local user or NIS User (in NIS with 2
password files) is being removed, the user's
files could be re-assigned to either Local or
NIS users. The re-assignment must not be
		    allowed across repositories.
		    3. Duplicate UID and Login name check is not
being done across repositories while adding or
modifying a user on a NIS system with 2
		    password files.
Resolution: Now, SAM behaves correctly in the "Accounts for
Users and Groups" functional area in the
		    following scenarios:
		    1. The "Create Home Directory" toggle appears
only if the home directory entry is changed
		    while modifying a user.
		    2. While removing a user from a NIS system with
2 password files, re-assignment of files only
to a user in the same repository is allowed.
		    3. Duplicate UID and Login name check is done
across repositories while adding or modifying a
user on a NIS system with 2 password files.

JAGaf14390) Enter "SAM -> Disk and File systems -> File

	            Communications -> Network File systems
-> Mounted Remote FileSystems" subareas. If
the size of the automounter map is larger than
4096 bytes, SAM exits with a memory fault.
Resolution: SAM is modified to handle large automounter
	            entries upto 32768 bytes.

JAGaf14809) The checking condition to find out the value
of the Flow control field for gelan, igelan and
iether cards are incorrect. The Flow control
value is wrongly displayed on the "Advanced
Options" screen of gelan, igelan and iether
		    cards.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to correctly display the
value of the "Flow control" field for gelan,
		    igelan and iether cards.

JAGaf15421) The Modify screen does not allow modification
of IP address and host name in the SAM ->
Networking and Communications -> Hosts subarea.
Resolution: The Modify screen allows modification of IP
address and host name in the SAM -> Networking
		    and Communications -> Hosts subarea.

JAGaf16820) SAM used an incorrect parsing algorithm to
detect the VxFS mount options of a VxFS file
system and displayed a wrong highlighted option
while modifying the mount options of such a
file system in a system that supported HP
		    OnLineJFS.
Resolution: The parsing algorithm in SAM has been corrected
to detect the correct VxFS mount options of a
file system that uses HP OnLineJFS.

JAGaf17971) The file /usr/sam/lbin/samd is obsolete in HP-UX
11.23. The associated daemon samd is not
	            stopped before removing the file.
Resolution: The daemon samd is stopped before removing the
	            file /usr/sam/lbin/samd.

JAGaf20017) SAM displayed the "Enable/Disable Synchronous-
Write Data Logging" VxFS mount option without
first checking if HP OnLineJFS product is
installed completely on the system along with
		    its required licenses.
Resolution: SAM now checks if the HP OnLineJFS is installed
on the system and has valid licenses before
		    displaying the "Enable/Disable Synchronous-
Write Data Logging" mount option for a VxFS
		    file system.

JAGaf20420) SAM does not check the start and end address
		    before updating the /etc/dhcptab file.
Resolution: Now, SAM checks the start and end address
		    before updating the /etc/dhcptab file.

JAGaf22147) In the SAM -> Networking and Communications ->
Network Interface Cards subarea, SAM needs to
be enhanced to support the Large send feature
for iether and igelan cards, and Interrupt
		    Throttling mode for iether cards.
Resolution: SAM has been enhanced to support the Large send
feature for iether and igelan cards, and
Interrupt Throttling mode for iether cards in
the SAM -> Networking and Communications ->
		    Network Interface Cards subarea.

JAGaf22501) Enter SAM-> Accounts for Users and Groups ->
Users subarea . Create a User template with
Password option "Force Password Change upon
Next Login". Select this User Template as the
current template. Add a user using this
template with NULL password. Login as the
newly created user on the system. The user is
not asked to change password upon Login.
Resolution: Now, SAM sets "Force password change upon
next Login" option for user created using
user templates with Password Option "Force
Password change upon next Login" when user's
password is NULL. The user is forced to
		    change his/her password upon login.

JAGaf23716) The file /usr/sam/lbin/samd is obsolete in
HP-UX 11.23 release. After the upgrade
	            from HP-UX 11.11 release to HP-UX 11.23
release, the samd daemon is not killed
and the associated samd daemon entry is not
	            removed from the etc/inittab file.
Resolution: SAM now stops the samd daemon and removes the
samd entry from the file /etc/inittab before
	            removing the file /usr/sam/lbin/samd.

JAGaf27185) SAM-NNC was not supporting configuration of
	            VLAN interface.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to support the
	            configuration of VLAN interfaces.

JAGaf27341) SAM does not check if a network interface is a
VLAN interface before displaying it in
SAM -> Networking and Communications -> Network
	            Interface Cards area.
Resolution: SAM does not display any VLAN interface under
SAM -> Networking and Communications -> Network
	            Interface Cards area.
JAGaf26699) When restricted SAM user is converting a system
to trusted mode, the trusted database files are
	            created with improper permissions.
Resolution: Restricted SAM has been modified so that the
trusted database files are created with the
	            correct permissions.
JAGaf28870) The number of unique users logged into the
system is reported incorrectly on entering
	            SAM->System Properties->Operating System.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to display the correct
number of unique users logged into the system
in the "System Properties" functional area.
JAGaf28881) SAM is not properly converting the range
for "Password Expiration Time" and "Minimum
Time Between Password Changes" into days for
all cases and SAM is not initializing the
	            "Account Life Time" correctly.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to display the range for
the parameters in days while in shadow mode for
all cases and to initialize the "Account Life
	            Time" correctly.
JAGaf29531) On entering SAM ->Networking and Communications
	            ->Network Interface Cards subarea and
selecting an IP logical interface and
performing the "Modify" action, the fields
Speed, Duplex and Auto Negotiation are
displayed in the Modify screen of IP logical
interface. SAM should not display these fields.
Resolution: Now, SAM does not display Speed, Duplex and
Auto negotiation fields in the Modify screen of
	            IP logical interfaces.

JAGaf30923) The online help of SAM -> Networking and
		    Communications ->Network Interface Cards subarea
needs to be updated to capture the information
that while a user is modifying driver parameters
for an interface from SAM, the user must ensure
that IP parameters for that interface is also
		    configured.
Resolution: The online help of SAM -> Networking and
		    Communications ->Network Interface Cards subarea
has been updated to capture the information that
while a user is modifying driver parameters for
an interface from SAM, the user must ensure that
IP parameters for that interface is also
		    configured.

JAGaf30154) When an attempt is made to grep for an IP
	            address from the output of
		    /usr/sam/lbin/laninfo command, the grep
		    command fails.
Resolution: Now, users can grep for an IP address from
	            the output of /usr/sam/lbin/laninfo command.

	JAGaf31514) In the SAM ->Networking and Communications->
Network Interface Cards subarea, select a GELAN
or IHV interface and select Configure/Modify
action item. In the "Configure LAN Card" screen,
SAM must display the Auto Negotiation field
		    above Speed, and Duplex fields.

JAGaf32099) For an EVA disk array, SAM -> Disks and
FileSystems -> Disk Devices subarea displays
the alternate path to a disk as a separate
LUN if the device identifier bytes returned
		    by ioscan(1M) do not match.
Resolution: For the EVA disk array, the alternate paths
to a disk are correctly recognized even
if the device identifier bytes do not match.

JAGaf32828) SAM must remove support for enabling or
disabling IPv6 tunneling in SAM -> Networking
and Communications -> Network Interface Cards
		    subarea.
Resolution: SAM support for enabling or disabling IPv6
tunneling in SAM -> Networking and
		    Communications -> Network Interface Cards
		    area is removed.

JAGaf32861) In the following scenarios, SAM does not
behave correctly in the Accounts for Users
and Groups -> Users subarea when system is in
		    shadow mode:
	            1. Go to Actions -> Add. Create an user with
Account Lifetime value set. Modify the user
details . Enter [Modify Password Option] and
change account lifetime value and click OK.
Enter the task dialog again by clicking on
[Modify Password Options]. The Lifetime set
is not displayed; instead Lifetime shows
		       selection "None (Infinite)".
	            2. Go to Actions -> Add. Enter [Set Password
Option] and specify the Lifetime. Click OK.
Re-enter the password aging task dialog.
Click cancel. Add the user. The lifetime
is being set for that user.
Resolution: Now, SAM behaves correctly in the Accounts for
Users and Groups-> Users subarea when system
is in shadow mode in the following scenarios:
	            1. Account Lifetime is being displayed
correctly in all cases while a user is
		       being modified.
	            2. Account Lifetime is not being set when it
is cancelled during addition of user.

	PHCO_29666:
JAGaf01237) SAM must be enhanced to support the IPoIB LAN
	            interface.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to support the IPoIB LAN
	            interface.

JAGaf10166) SAM calls the "ifconfig" command only when IP
	            parameters are modified in the
"Configure/Modify" screen. As a result, when
the card type is changed to create the SNAP
interface, SAM does not call the "ifconfig"
command and the SNAP interface is not created.
Resolution: SAM has been modified to call the "ifconfig"
command when the card type is changed, now the
		    SNAP interface is created successfully.

JAGaf10167) SAM checks for duplicate IP address before
setting the IP address for an interface in the
"Network Interface Cards" subarea . This
check does not cover Hyperfabric adapter,
and APA areas. As a result, SAM updates the
		    file /etc/hosts with wrong entries.
Resolution: SAM checks for duplicate IP address
in Hyperfabric adapter and APA areas.
As a result, SAM prevents incorrect
		    updates to the file /etc/hosts.
