HP-UX Parallel Umounts製品がインストールされていなければ、この製品アッ
プデートは、システムに対してなにも影響を与えません。
この機能を使用しないと、巨大なバッファキャッシュや多数のマウントファイ
ルシステムを使用するマシンの場合、シャットダウンに過剰な時間がかかりま
す。

この機能を使用しないと、シャットダウン時に、すべてのマウントファイルシ
ステムがシリアルにアンマウントされるため、多数のマウントファイルシステ
ムを使用するマシンの場合、シャットダウンに過剰な時間がかかります。
解決方法:
HP-UX Parallel Umountsがインストールされている場合は、Parallel Umounts
機能を使ってアンマウントをパラレルに行うようにlocalmountスクリプトを修
正しました。Parallel Umounts機能を使用すると、ファイルシステムのアンマ
ウントが高速化されるので、総シャットダウン時間が短縮されます。

This product update is a member of a set needed to enable
the optional HP-UX Parallel Umounts feature.
Upon installation, the HP-UX Parallel Umounts bundle
(UmountallEnh) will install the full set of product updates
(including this one) to enable the Parallel Umounts
feature.
If the HP-UX Parallel Umounts product is not installed,
this product update will have no impact on your system.
Shutdown takes a large amount of time to complete.
The effect is seen on machines with a huge buffer cache and
large number of mounted filesystems.
Defect Description:

This product update contains minor enhancements required to
enable the HP-UX Parallel Umounts.
Shutdown unmounts all the mounted filesystems serially,
which would lead to a large shutdown time on a
machine which has a large number of mounted filesystems.
Resolution:
localmount script has been changed to make unmounts happen
in parallel, which is possible on installing the HP-UX
Parallel Umounts.
By using parallel unmounts, unmounting the filesystems
happen quickly, thus reducing the overall shutdown time.

1. Back up your system before installing a patch.
2. Login as root.
3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.
4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:
cd /tmp
sh PHCO_36566
5. Run swinstall to install the patch:
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true \
-s /tmp/PHCO_36566.depot
By default swinstall will archive the original software in
/var/adm/sw/save/PHCO_36566. If you do not wish to retain a
copy of the original software, include the patch_save_files
option in the swinstall command above:
-x patch_save_files=false
WARNING: If patch_save_files is false when a patch is installed,
the patch cannot be deinstalled. Please be careful
when using this feature.
