Symptoms:
PHCO_36670:
( SR:8606477311 CR:JAGag31729 )
Intel(r) Itanium(r) 2 9100 series processors are not
correctly identified as such by the machinfo command.
PHCO_34710:
( SR:8606439139 CR:JAGaf97144 )
The machinfo command does not display stepping information
for Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series processors.
PHCO_33751:
( SR:8606411285 CR:JAGaf71167 )
Machinfo command (Intel Itanium-based systems only) reports
the wrong processor speed on systems with Itanium 2
Processors (1.4-1.8 GHz, up to 24MB cache).
The processor speed is reported as being 350-400 MHz.
PHCO_32642:
( SR:8606386728 CR:JAGaf46882 )
Certain newly defined processor capability bits are not
decoded without this patch.
PHCO_31591:
( SR:8606351664 CR:JAGaf12469 )
Man pages that are architecture specific do not indicate
that fact.
( SR:8606353270 CR:JAGaf14065 )
This product update provides pre-enablement for future
expansion of the maximum length of the system nodename and
hostname. Any actual expansion capability may be provided in
a future HP-UX nodename and hostname expansion product. Upon
installation, the nodename and hostname expansion bundle
(NodeHostNameXpnd) will install the full set of product
updates (including this one) needed to enable the expansion.
If the nodename and hostname expansion bundle is not
installed, this product update will have no affect on your
system.
( SR:8606368218 CR:JAGaf28781 )
The 'machinfo' command doesn't recognize
some of the Intel Itanium processor family and
model numbers. It displays "Processor name is
not available" in the "processor model" field for those
processors.
Defect Description:
PHCO_36670:
( SR:8606477311 CR:JAGag31729 )
The machinfo command needs to be updated with identification
information for Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 9100 series
processors.
Resolution:
The machinfo command has been updated with identification
information for Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 9100 series
processors.
PHCO_34710:
( SR:8606439139 CR:JAGaf97144 )
The machinfo command's stepping information needs to be
updated to identify Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series
processors.
Resolution:
The machinfo command has been updated to provide stepping
information for the Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series
processors.
PHCO_33751:
( SR:8606411285 CR:JAGaf71167 )
The machinfo command has used the interval timer frequency
as an indicator of processor speed. Intel Itanium 2
Processors (1.4-1.8 GHz, up to 24MB cache) run the interval
timer at a different frequency than the processor core.
Kernel patch PHKL_33752 is also required for the machinfo
command to display the correct processor speed on Itanium 2
Processors (1.4-1.8GHz, up to 24MB cache).
Resolution:
The machinfo command now uses processor core frequency
information provided by the kernel with patch PHKL_33752.
PHCO_32642:
( SR:8606386728 CR:JAGaf46882 )
Certain newly defined processor capabilities in CPUID
register 4 are not being decoded and displayed.
Resolution:
Add functionality to decode and display the newly defined
processor capability bits in CPUID register 4.
PHCO_31591:
( SR:8606351664 CR:JAGaf12469 )
Architecture specific man pages need to indicate that
fact at the start of the man page information.
Resolution:
Added architecture specific notification at the start of
the man page information.
( SR:8606353270 CR:JAGaf14065 )
This product update contains some minor enhancements
required to pre-enable a future HP-UX nodename and hostname
expansion product bundle(NodeHostNameXpnd).
Resolution:
Internal buffers for the nodename or hostname are expanded
in preparation for a future increase to the associated
maximum length constraint.
( SR:8606368218 CR:JAGaf28781 )
The 'machinfo' command did not have code to recognize
some of the Intel Itanium processor families and
their model numbers. As a result, the "processor
model" field of this command displayed "Processor name is
not available" whenever those processors were present on
the system.
Resolution:
The 'machinfo' command has been modified to recognize
the Intel Itanium processor families and their models
that are supported.
Enhancement:
No (superseded patches contained enhancements)
PHCO_31591:
( SR:8606353270 CR:JAGaf14065 )
Support added for future maximum length expansion of
hostname.
