	s800: 11.23

現象:

	PHSS_35966:

	1.(SR:8606473992 CR:JAGag28594)
	システムのシャットダウン中に、たまに、次のようなエラーメッセージが表示
	されることがあります。

	Unload/Uninstall XF86 DLKM Helper Modules....FAIL*

	Graphics Administration Guide(GAG)

	Unload/Uninstall XF86 DLKM Helper Modules....FAIL*

Symptoms:
	PHSS_35966:
	1. ( SR: 8606473992 CR: JAGag28594 )
When a system is being shut down, occasionally
a user will see an error message such as the
	   following:
	   Unload/Uninstall XF86 DLKM Helper Modules....FAIL*
The error may or may not show up depending on
the exact timing between various shutdown scripts.

	2. ( SR: 8606475128 CR: JAGag29569 )
Some Radeon 7500 quad multiscreen configurations
	   get monitor resolutions wrong.

	3. ( SR: 8606475807 CR: JAGag30124 )
The XF86Config file references the wrong (workstation)
version of the Graphics Administration Guide (GAG).

	4. ( SR: 8606475834 CR: JAGag30147 )
When using snf fonts with XF86 the Xserver crashes.

	PHSS_35253:
	1. ( SR: 8606455038 CR: JAGag11641 )
On ATI Radeon 7500 cards, the SAM (/usr/sbin/sam)
monitor configuration screen shows two monitors, even if
only one is configured for use by the Xserver.

	2. ( SR: 8606440362 CR: JAGaf98245 )
	   The setmon utility (/opt/graphics/common/bin/setmon)
(also used by SAM) is unable to change monitor
resolution and timing on both screens of an ATI Radeon
	   7500.

	3. ( SR: 8606454487 CR: JAGag11129 )
The utility that loads the X display server
	   (/usr/bin/X11/X) is a PA-RISC executable on Itanium
systems. There is no incorrect behavior.

	4. ( SR: 8606454477 CR: JAGag11121 )
In SAM (/usr/sbin/sam), ATI Radeon 7000 graphics devices
	   shows two available displays.

	5. ( SR: 8606452818 CR: JAGag09617 )
In SAM, 'Accelerate Indirect Rendering' is incorrectly
shown as a valid Screen Option on Radeon graphics cards.

	6. ( SR: 8606452816 CR: JAGag09615 )
On ATI Radeon graphics devices, SAM allows Screen
Options to be set, but does not allow them to be unset.

	7. ( SR: 8606430400 CR: JAGaf89859 )
SAM cannot modify the Default Visual on ATI Radeon
	   graphics devices.

	8. ( SR: 8606430276 CR: JAGaf89735 )
SAM (/usr/sbin/sam) does not correctly configure Single
Logical Screen (SLS) on ATI Radeon graphics cards.

	9. ( SR: 8606430274 CR: JAGaf89733 )
The SAM utility (/usr/sbin/sam) cannot create
multi-screen configurations for ATI Radeon graphics
	   cards.

	PHSS_32960:
	    ( SR: 8606431855 CR: JAGaf91297 )
Running applications that use the MIT-SHM extension
remotely can generate an XError, such as BadIDChoice or
	    BadAccess.

	    ( SR: 8606431660 CR: JAGaf91102 )
Calls to XCreatePixmap() with large coordinates may be
	    incorrectly denied.

	    ( SR: 8606430933 CR: JAGaf90376 )
	    Monitor resolution 1920x1200@60Hz gets div-by-zero
	    exception on ATI Radeon 7500.

	    ( SR: 8606430463 CR: JAGaf89922 )
Monitor does not sync with some resolutions on Radeon
7500 with DVI. Other resolutions will have incorrect
	    timing.

	    ( SR: 8606430092 CR: JAGaf89551 )
The 'setmon' program can abort when selecting the same
resolution as the resolution that is already already
	    set.

	    ( SR: 8606390246 CR: JAGaf50392 )
SAM does not restart the X server when the resolution is
changed and the CDE login screen is displayed.

	    ( SR: 8606390245 CR: JAGaf50391 )
The SAM "Display Monitor Timing" screen should not have
a field "Monitor Supports" for ATI FireGL or ATI Radeon
	    devices.

	    ( SR: 8606378653 CR: JAGaf38911 )
Enhance setmon to be able to identify the type of
monitor (vendor, model) attached to a graphics card.

	    ( SR: 8606378480 CR: JAGaf38738 )
Turning DPMS on for a system in Xinerama mode only
causes the first monitor to go into power saving mode.
The other monitors will stay active.

	    ( SR: 8606372295 CR: JAGaf32702 )
XDrawArc() doesn't draw an arc when using large width
and height parameters on ATI Radeon devices.

	PHSS_32953:
	    ( SR: 8606419692 CR: JAGaf79522 )
	    XCreatePixmap() functions incorrectly.

	    ( SR: 8606413877 CR: JAGaf73736 )
The X server may fail to start on ATI FireGL4, and ATI
FireGL X1/Z1 because of the existence of one or more
	    /tmp/.X*-lock file(s).

	PHSS_31252:
	    ( SR: 8606379334 CR: JAGaf39583 )
This update provides enablement for expansion of the
maximum length of the system nodename and hostname. Any
actual expansion capability will be provided in a
separate HP-UX nodename and hostname expansion product.

	    ( SR: 8606371890 CR: JAGaf32309 )
Backing store (when enabled) may not work properly on
ATI Radeon 7000, ATI FireGL4, and ATI FireGL X1/Z1. For
example, when a window using backing store is enlarged,
the contents from the newly exposed area may not appear
	    on the screen.

	    ( SR: 8606351635 CR: JAGaf12440 )
The graphdiag utility can fail with a segmentation fault
when run on an ATI Radeon 7000 (IPF systems) or an HP
	    FX2, FX4 or FX6 (PA-RISC systems).

	    ( SR: 8606391742 CR: JAGaf51874 )
ATI FireGL X1/Z1 graphics devices can have video noise
on digital output on some L2335 flat panel monitors at
	    1920x1200 resolution.

	    ( SR: 8606391679 CR: JAGaf51811 )
The Xserver needs to use an alternate set of device
files for the USB keyboard and mouse.

	    ( SR: 8606390696 CR: JAGaf50842 )
ATI FireGL X1/Z1 graphics devices configured for Single
Logical Screen (SLS) mode may have an incorrect
	    Dots-Per-Inch (DPI) reported.

	    ( SR: 8606389388 CR: JAGaf49536 )
ATI FireGL X1/Z1 graphics devices configured for Single
Logical Screen (SLS) mode may have an incorrect size or
	    aspect ratio on some monitors.

	    ( SR: 8606378137 CR: JAGaf38395 )
glXDestroyGLXPixmap() does not always free all Xserver
	    memory.

	    ( SR: 8606371981 CR: JAGaf32399 )
XCopyArea() may produce incorrect results on an ATI
Radeon 7000 graphics device in a Xinerama configuration
when performed on windows that span physical screen
	    boundaries.

	    ( SR: 8606371853 CR: JAGaf32271 )
Some applications running with an ATI Radeon 7000
graphics device in a Xinerama configuration may abort
with a core dump or BadWindow error when using dtwm or
	    mwm as the window manager.

	    ( SR: 8606371168 CR: JAGaf31586 )
The _HP_SLS_CONFIGURATION_INFO property on the ATI
FireGL X1/Z1 devices is not consistent with other
graphics cards when configured in an SLS mode.

	    ( SR: 8606368639 CR: JAGaf29201 )
Setmon displays the timing entries for the ATI FireGL4
hardware SLS modes when it shouldn't.

	    ( SR: 8606397605 CR: JAGaf57587 )
This update provides enablement for the ATI Radeon 7500
	    graphics card.

	PHSS_30872:
	    ( SR: 8606394923 CR: JAGaf54937 )
Changes required by kernel modifications in graphics
	    hardware mapping.

	PHSS_30505:
	    ( SR: 8606368805 CR: JAGaf29367 )
On ATI FireGL4 and ATI FireGL X1/Z1 graphics cards,
setmon cannot query the monitor for timing information
while CDE is at the login screen.

	    ( SR: 8606349293 CR: JAGaf10114 )
When running on ATI FireGL4, ATI FireGL X1/Z1 graphics
cards, the Xserver may return an error message after
approximately 107 clients have connected - indicating
that it has accepted the maximum number of clients.

	    ( SR: 8606364816 CR: JAGaf25455 )
FireGL X1/Z1 Xserver crosshair cursor occasionally will
	     leave droppings

	    ( SR: 8606362676 CR: JAGaf23342 )
Stereo windows sometimes appear non-stereo on ATI FireGL
	    X1/Z1

	PHSS_30502:
	    ( SR: 8606347981 CR: JAGaf08803 )
If USB input devices (keyboard/mouse) are physically
disconnected from the host system, the Xserver needs to
be restarted in order to use these devices again, even
after they are reconnected to the system.

	    ( SR: 8606356367 CR: JAGaf17075 )
Xlib rendering in non-stereo visual windows on a FireGL
X1/Z1 graphics card running in a stereo mode X server
can fail to be visible in the right eye.

	    ( SR: 8606350973 CR: JAGaf11785 )
1280x1024 @ 75 Hz timing does not work on HP2035 monitor
	    with ATI Fire GL4.

	    ( SR: 8606351810 CR: JAGaf12615 )
The X Server should document how to enable backing store
functionality, as it is off by default on devices such
as ATI Fire GL4, ATI FireGL X1/Z1.

	    ( SR: 8606350848 CR: JAGaf11660 )
When the X process is killed with kill -9 while client
3D applications are still running, the 3D process may be
left in an unkillable state. This applies to all FireGL
	    devices.

	    ( SR: 8606350693 CR: JAGaf11505 )
The X Server does not always lock the graphics device
	    properly.

	    ( SR: 8606348718 CR: JAGaf09539 )
Added support for the L2335 flat panel monitor.

	    ( SR: 8606348342 CR: JAGaf09164 )
Drawing and erasing dashed lines with the xor function
	    leaves droppings.

	    ( SR: 8606348182 CR: JAGaf09004 )
The X server core dumps when XCopyArea is given large
	    coordinate values.

	    ( SR: 8606346787 CR: JAGaf07611 )
The ATI FireGL X1/Z1 driver does not properly observe
the gamma value set in the monitor section of the
XF86Config file. The gamma value entered there does not
have any effect on the gamma value used in the image
planes. Instead, it only affects the overlays.

	    ( SR: 8606346647 CR: JAGaf07471 )
When the Xserver is in SLS mode on an ATI FireGL X1/Z1,
the Dots Per Inch (DPI) is listed incorrectly.

	    ( SR: 8606346569 CR: JAGaf07393 )
The rendering of 2D lines by the X server is slow on ATI
	    FireGL X1/Z1 displays.

	    ( SR: 8606345922 CR: JAGaf06768 )
Video sync is lost on FireGL X1 display after 2nd logout
	    in SLS mode.

	    ( SR: 8606345593 CR: JAGaf06441 )
The ATI FireGL X1/Z1 driver does not provide a mechanism
to set the image and overlay gamma values independently
via the Monitor section of the XF86Config file. The
gamma setting present in the monitor section will apply
globally to both image and overlay windows.

	    ( SR: 8606345585 CR: JAGaf06433 )
The current gamma value in use by the X server is not
reflected by the gamma tool when it first starts.

	    ( SR: 8606345036 CR: JAGaf05886 )
SAM allows the user to attempt to setup up multi-screen
	    configurations on OEM graphics devices.

	    ( SR: 8606344460 CR: JAGaf05310 )
When a user runs "xsetroot" on an ATI Fire GL4 graphics
device, the image is painted over the entire screen, and
visible windows remain covered by this image until their
next repaint. Other utilities that modify the
background of the root window may also exhibit this
	    behavior.

	    ( SR: 8606341880 CR: JAGaf02787 )
Using 'xset' to add a font server to the font path fails
	    with the following error message:
xset: bad font path element (#36), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
		Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax
When this occurs, the Xserver's error log contains the
	    following error messages:
	    _FontTransSocketOpen: socket() failed for tcp
	    _FontTransSocketOpenCOTSClient: Unable to open socket
	      for tcp
	    _FontTransOpen: transport open failed for
	      tcp/hostname:7000

	    ( SR: 8606341717 CR: JAGaf02624 )
SAM locks up if you attempt to access the graphics
device while the CDE login screen (running SAM remotely)
	    is active.

	    ( SR: 8606340535 CR: JAGaf01454 )
If you turn off the "channel lock" option of the gamma
tool, you cannot actually set independent red, green and
blue gamma values. It appears that only the blue slider
has any real affect on the gamma setting.

	    ( SR: 8606340464 CR: JAGaf01383 )
When you change the DPMS blanking interval using SAM it
	    has no effect on CDE.

	    ( SR: 8606340462 CR: JAGaf01381 )
When you turn DPMS ON in SAM if you hit Cancel instead
of OK, DPMS is still marked as on but the DPMS time
	    fields are not modifiable.

	    ( SR: 8606340450 CR: JAGaf01369 )
When using the gamma tool, the correct gamma setting is
not always reflected by the X server when switching

When a system is being shut down, occasionally
the graphics kernel modules will fail to uninstall.
This will result in the following message:
	   Unload/Uninstall XF86 DLKM Helper Modules....FAIL*
The error may or may not show up depending on
the exact timing between various shutdown scripts.
This message is harmless and can be ignored.

	Resolution:
The /sbin/init.d/xf86 script has been changed to
not unload the graphics kernel modules during
shutdown since they may still be in use. The
same script will correctly configure these modules
	at the next boot time.

The problem occurs on Radeon 7500 only, with dot clock
frequencies between 175MHz and 200 MHz. This can only

	      (DVI) connector.
	  Resolution:
The PLL operating parameters were retrieved

These are actually two distinct problems:
	    1. The following resolutions don't sync up on Radeon
	        7500 with DVI-D signal:
	      1280x1024 @ 85 Hz
	      1600x1200 @ 60 Hz
	    2. The following resolutions don't set the correct
timing as reported by the monitor:
	      1024x768 @ 60Hz monitor reports 51 Hz
	      1024x768 @ 70Hz monitor reports 59 Hz
	      1024x768 @ 75Hz monitor reports 63 Hz
	      1024x768 @ 85Hz monitor reports 74 Hz

When selecting the same resolution as the resolution
that is already set, an uninitialized variable was used
as the basis for a length field. If the value of this
uninitialized variable was large, we could end up with
an incorrect length in the request structure.
	  Resolution:
The uninitialized variable is now initialized.

	    ( SR: 8606390246 CR: JAGaf50392 )
SAM does not restart the X server when the resolution is
changed and the CDE login screen is displayed. The
option to restart the X server should be offered no
matter what state the X server is in. The user has
changed the resolution and may want that change to take
	    effect immediately.

	  Resolution:
Allow SAM to restart the Xserver whenever the user
	    changes screen resolution.

	    ( SR: 8606390245 CR: JAGaf50391 )
The resolutions that are available when ATI based cards
are configured are determined by the X server. SAM gets
all its supported monitor resolutions from the X server
so there are no resolutions that are NOT supported. The
	    "Monitor Supports" column is unneeded.
	  Resolution:
Removed the "Monitor Supports" column from the "Display
Monitor Timing" screen for the specified devices.

	    ( SR: 8606378653 CR: JAGaf38911 )
Setmon currently only informs the user what graphics
device is being configured and what the supported
timings are for that device/monitor pair.
	  Resolution:
The new implementation of setmon uses DDC information
obtained from the monitor when providing information
about supported timings for the graphics card/monitor
pair. Information regarding the type of monitor
(vendor, model, serial #, connection type) is also
available to setmon in the DDC information. By
providing a new option (-M) the user can now get the
monitor information if it is available from the monitor.

	    ( SR: 8606378480 CR: JAGaf38738 )
Systems in Xinerama mode have multiple monitors. When
DPMS is enabled with SAM, only the first monitor
associated with the Xinerama layout will be put into
power saving mode, the other monitors will remain
	    active.
	  Resolution:
To put all the monitors associated with the Xinerama
layout SAM needs to track down all the "Monitor"
sections in the XF86Config file that are associated with
the Xinerama layout and add the DPMS option to those
	    sections.

	  Resolution:
Code was fixed to render the arc. An additional fix was
also needed to remove some glitches from the arc

The reference count handling of GLX pixmaps in the
Xserver could get out of sync, resulting in a situation
where the reference count would not get down to 0 when
it should. As a result, the Xserver would not free all
memory associated with the pixmap when
	    glXDestroyGLXPixmap() was called.
	  Resolution:
The memory management has been fixed to free the GLX

When an ATI Radeon 7000 graphics device is configured
for Xinerama, the Xserver does not properly handle
windows spanning multiple screens, particularly when the
	    window was partially obscured.
	  Resolution:
The Xserver was modified to handle the XCopyArea()
request on windows spanning multiple physical screens
more correctly when an ATI Radeon 7000 is configured for
	    Xinerama.

	    ( SR: 8606371853 CR: JAGaf32271 )
When an ATI Radeon 7000 graphics device is configured
for Xinerama, the Xserver does not always set the error
value for BadWindow error cases correctly. As a result,
applications, such as the dtwm/mwm window managers may
destroy a valid window. This causes future requests for
that window to generate a BadWindow error.
	  Resolution:
When the Xserver is in a Xinerama configuration and
generates a BadWindow error, it now sets the error value
field to that of the invalid window ID. This prevents
applications that detect BadWindow errors from

	    ( SR: 8606394923 CR: JAGaf54937 )
Changes required by kernel modifications in graphics
	    hardware mapping.

	PHSS_30505:
	    ( SR: 8606368805 CR: JAGaf29367 )
Setmon attempts to get the timing information from the X
server but since the X server is grabbed by the CDE
login screen it can't get the information and it can't
talk to the hardware to get the DDC information on its
	    own.
	  Resolution:
The X server now stores its DDC timing information in
the driver so that setmon can retrieve the information
when an X server grab is active.

	    ( SR: 8606349293 CR: JAGaf10114 )
The file descriptors corresponding to client connections
are managed such that the Xserver's internal file
descriptors count against the number of clients that the
	    Xserver can accept.
	  Resolution:
The Xserver's internal file descriptors no longer count
against the number of clients that can connect.

	    ( SR: 8606364816 CR: JAGaf25455 )
The Xserver's full screen crosshair cursor
(_HP_CROSSHAIR_CURSOR) on the FireGL X1/Z1 graphics card
can occasionally leave XOR dropping on the screen at the
	    intersections of windows.
	  Resolution:
Corrected cursor hotspot and window clip computations in
the software full screen crosshair cursor driver code.

	    ( SR: 8606362676 CR: JAGaf23342 )
The FireGL X1/Z1 driver is incorrectly identifying
non-stereo windows (in stereo mode) that need to be
copied from the left image bank to the right image bank.
Also these copies are failing to include the window's
border. This results in some OpenGL stereo windows
appearing with the left image in both eyes.
	Resolution:
The X Server FireGL X1/Z1 driver has been corrected to
only copy non-stereo windows contents for the left image
	    to the right image buffer.

	PHSS_30502:
	    ( SR: 8606347981 CR: JAGaf08803 )
The ability to dynamically disconnect/reconnect USB
input devices is not supported in the Xserver.
	  Resolution:
This functionality has been added to the Xserver. As a
result, if USB keyboard and mouse devices are removed
from the system, the Xserver will be able to use them
when they are reconnected to the host.

	    ( SR: 8606356367 CR: JAGaf17075 )
The FireGL X1/Z1 graphics cards support stereo
operation. This mode is activated in the
/etc/X11/XF86Config file (or via SAM). When enabled
both stereo and non-stereo visuals are supported in the
image planes. If an application creates a window in the
image planes using a non-stereo visual and then opens
the window using the OpenGL API, subsequent Xlib
rendering to this window will only appear in the left
	    stereo image.

	  Resolution:
The graphics driver for the FireGL X1/Z1 has been
corrected to always display Xlib rendering to non-stereo
visuals in both left and right images. Additionally
Xlib rendering to stereo windows that have not been
opened by the OpenGL API will appear in both left and
right images. Xlib rendering to an OpenGL opened stereo
window will only appear in the left image buffer.

	  Resolution:
This information has been added to the "info" file and
	    is delivered in
	        /usr/lib/hpux32/X11/Xserver/info/screens/xf86

	    ( SR: 8606350848 CR: JAGaf11660 )
When the X process is killed with kill -9, but 3D
processes are still running, if the 3D process sees the
graphics card as hung and tries to do a card reset, the
3d process will get put to sleep waiting for an answer
from X. Since X is already killed, X can't answer.
	  Resolution:
The reset code checks and makes sure the X process is
still active before putting the 3D process to sleep
waiting for a signal from X. If X is already killed,
the 3d process exits the reset code without sleeping.

	    ( SR: 8606350693 CR: JAGaf11505 )
The X Server does not always lock the graphics device
	    properly.

	    ( SR: 8606348718 CR: JAGaf09539 )
Support was added for the L2335 monitor to operate at
1920x1200 resolution on the following displays:
ATI FireGL X1/Z1, ATI Fire GL4, ATI Radeon 7000
The Digital DVI interface is recommended for best image
	    quality.

	    ( SR: 8606348342 CR: JAGaf09164 )
Any logical functions set in the GC will be ignored when
drawing a dashed line on the FireGL X1/Z1 displays.

	    ( SR: 8606348182 CR: JAGaf09004 )
The problem occurs when XCopyArea is given a source
rectangle that lies partly or completely outside the X
	    server limits of +/- 32K.

	    ( SR: 8606346787 CR: JAGaf07611 )
Specifying a gamma value in the Monitor section of the
XF86Config file does not change the gamma value of the
image planes for ATI FireGL X1/Z1 devices. The driver
uses this value to initialize the gamma value used in
the overlay planes. It then comes in later and resets
the gamma for both the overlays and image planes as if
the config value never existed. Gamma initialization
within the driver needs some attention/rework.
	  Resolution:
Rework the gamma initialization code within the driver.

	    ( SR: 8606346647 CR: JAGaf07471 )
The XDisplayWidthMM function returns a wrong value that
is off by a factor of 2. The xdpyinfo command uses this
value to report DPI resolution of the screen. This
causes problems with applications that use the DPI for
	    selecting font sizes, for example.

	    ( SR: 8606346569 CR: JAGaf07393 )
Accelerated rendering of lines got disabled in the X
server on the ATI FireGL X1/Z1 displays.
	  Resolution:
Re-enabled accelerated rendering of lines in the X
	    server.

	    ( SR: 8606345922 CR: JAGaf06768 )
An ATI FireGL X1 display adapter is running in SLS
display mode. After 2 login/logout sequences via CDE,
the video display connected to the 2nd video connector
	    reports a loss of signal.

	    ( SR: 8606345593 CR: JAGaf06441 )
Add a gamma setting to the Monitor section of the
XF86Config file and start the X server. Notice that the
gamma setting applies to both image and overlay windows.
	  Resolution:
Add a keyword, "GammaAllLayers", that when used in the
Monitor section will cause the gamma setting there to
apply to both image and overlay windows. By default,
the monitor gamma setting in the config file will only
	    apply to image windows.

	    ( SR: 8606345585 CR: JAGaf06433 )
Change the gamma value in image mode to something other
than the default. Exit the tool and start it up again.
Notice that the value of the slider does not reflect the
	    setting you last entered.
	  Resolution:
Ensure that the gamma tool reflects the current setting
	    at startup.

	    ( SR: 8606345036 CR: JAGaf05886 )
SAM allows the user to configure the X server into a
multi-screen mode on OEM devices. This configuration is
not supported for OEM devices and the config file that
is written out does not set the system up into a
multi-screen mode it leaves the system in a non usable
	    mode.
	  Resolution:
Grey out the "Modify Multi-Screen Layout" option if SAM
detects that the devices selected are OEM graphics
	    devices.

	    ( SR: 8606344460 CR: JAGaf05310 )
The routine that paints the window background uses the
wrong clip list information for overlay windows.
	  Resolution:
The routine that paints the window background now uses
the correct clip list information for overlay windows.

	    ( SR: 8606341880 CR: JAGaf02787 )
The font library incorrectly concludes that the socket()
call failed. The call succeeds, but the code
	    incorrectly rejects it.
	  Resolution:
The font library now correctly accepts the valid return
value from the socket() call when adding a font server
	    to the font path.

	    ( SR: 8606341717 CR: JAGaf02624 )
SAM will hang, waiting to grab the X server, if you
attempt to access the graphics device while the CDE
login is active. You must be running SAM remotely. The
CDE login screen has the X server grabbed until someone
	    logs in.
	  Resolution:
Provide a timeout when attempting to grab the X server.
If SAM is able to grab the X server in the allotted time
then everything works just fine. If the timeout
happens, SAM will issue a warning to the user telling
them what happened and the possible causes.

	    ( SR: 8606340535 CR: JAGaf01454 )
Turn off channel lock in the gamma tool and move the
red, green and blue sliders independently. Notice that
the red and green sliders do not have any effect.
	  Resolution:
The X server was handling the gamma request incorrectly
in a way that caused the red and green values to be
	    ignored.

	    ( SR: 8606340464 CR: JAGaf01383 )
When you change the DPMS "Blank Time" interval on the
SAM DPMS screen the change has no effect since the
"Blank Time" interval is overridden by CDE upon startup.
	  Resolution:
Remove the "Blank Time" interval from the SAM DPMS
screen so the user does not think they can control that
value here. Remove the manipulation of the "Blank Time"
	    interval from SAM entirely.

	    ( SR: 8606340462 CR: JAGaf01381 )
When you turn DPMS ON in SAM, on the ServerOptions->DPMS
screen, if you hit Cancel instead of OK, DPMS is still
marked as ON but the DPMS time fields are not
modifiable. SAM thinks that DPMS is really OFF even
though the screen indicates it is ON.
	  Resolution:
The flag for the current state of DPMS should not be
updated until the OK or Cancel buttons are selected.

	    ( SR: 8606340450 CR: JAGaf01369 )
If you set a gamma value in image mode, say 2.0, and
then switch to image and overlay mode, the slider will
still indicate that gamma is 2.0, but the overlay planes
will not display with this setting.
	  Resolution:
Add code to radio button callback that activates the
current gamma setting in the appropriate layers.

	    ( SR: 8606339969 CR: JAGaf00890 )
The X server unlocks the device twice at server
shutdown. On the second call, the server no longer
holds the lock (due to the first call) and an error
	    message is displayed.
Resolution: Remove the error message as the extra unlock
	    call is benign.

	    ( SR: 8606330357 CR: JAGae91480 )
In the SAM "Monitor Configuration" screen with a ATI
Fire GL4 both heads are labeled "ATI Fire GL4(0)". The
2nd head isn't greyed out even if it's not enabled.
These 2 characteristics can make it very confusing to
	    the user.
	  Resolution:
The names for multi headed ATI graphics devices should
have the connector number appended to the names
displayed. This is consistent with the way that SAM
"Server Configuration" displays the multiple heads on a
	    device.

	    ( SR: 8606330355 CR: JAGae91478 )
When using SAM to modify the monitor type the user has 2
options; do nothing and lose the changes or restart the
X server immediately. To allow the user to continue in
the current session a 3rd option is necessary, write the
config file with the new settings and notify the user
that the settings will become active the next time the X
	    server is restarted.
	  Resolution:
When the monitor timing is changed for a device using
SAM the user will be presented with a "Restart the X
Server" dialog. If the user enters "Yes" the X server
will be restarted. If the user enters "No" the changes
will be saved to the configuration file and the user
will be notified that the changes will become active
when the X server is restarted.

	    ( SR: 8606318220 CR: JAGae80746 )
On ATI Radeon 7000 graphics cards SAM does not write out
the XF86Config file if a screen option such as
	    "AccelerateIndirectRenderingOption" is unset.
	  Resolution:
The flag that SAM used to decide whether or not an
option had been changed was not being updated properly.
Update the flag appropriately so that the routine that
updates the XF86Config file knows which options to write
	    out.

	    ( SR: 8606308216 CR: JAGae71251 )
When SAM is being used to configure the default visuals
on an ATI Radeon 7000 the user is allowed to select 24
bit PseudoColor visuals and 8 bit TrueColor visuals.
The only visual available in 24 bit depth is TrueColor
and the only visual available in 8 bit depth is
	    PseudoColor.
	  Resolution:
Provide the correct error checking (based on device
type) to only present the correct depth/visual classes
that are supported for that type of device.

	    ( SR: 8606299003 CR: JAGae62499 )
The Xlib calls XGetImage and XCopyArea were originally
	    implemented without DMA acceleration.
	  Resolution:
A new implementation uses DMA. A defect was also fixed
where the top padding byte of 24-bit pixel data was not
getting cleared and contained junk left behind by 3D
	    Alpha blending.

	    ( SR: 8606357394 CR: JAGaf18094 )
The X server did not perform proper synchronization
before updating the cursor image. This could result in
incorrect 3D data being sent to the device.
	  Resolution:
Perform the proper synchronization in the driver's
	    cursor code.

	    ( SR: 8606354473 CR: JAGaf15266 )
OpenGL uses a default gamma value of 1.7. PHIGS clients
use a default of 1.0. Running clients using different
APIs back-to-back will result in the gamma value
changing back and forth between these values.
	  Resolution:
Enforce a precedence among the various mechanisms
available to change gamma. Settings made using the
	    gamma tool (/opt/graphics/common/bin/gamma) will have
the highest precedence. Below that, any setting present
in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file will take precedence.
Finally, settings requested by clients are considered.

	    ( SR: 8606353562 CR: JAGaf14356 )
The parser module, used by the gamma tool, does not
ensure that the "C" locale is selected before outputting
	    the XF86Config file.
	  Resolution:
Explicitly set the locale to "C" in the parser module
before writing the config file. Restore the locale
after the config file is written.

	    ( SR: 8606340568 CR: JAGaf01486 )
To reproduce, move the crosshair cursor quickly down
from the coordinate input boxes near the upper right
hand portion of the main window. Interference with the
tooltips is required to produce the dropping. So, it's
best to hover over the coordinate window and allow the
tooltip to appear. Then, move the cursor swiftly down.
	    Periodically, red droppings will occur.
	  Resolution:
Crosshair cursor driver code needed to be fixed to
	    address this issue.

	    Problem in font libraries.

	    ( SR: 8606346322 CR:JAGaf07149 )
After loading Xserver patch PHSS_29710 system, the new
DLKMs are copied to /usr/conf/mod but do not always get

The new revision of the Management Processor Card, Rev
B, contains DDR RAM. This new RAM requires new
initialization code from the BIOS in order to initialize
the card correctly. It also requires a change in the
hardware init DLKM for Radeon (gvid_him_rad) in order to
function properly. This change provides the support
necessary in the Radeon hardware init DLKM to properly
	    initialize the card.

	    Resolution:
A new BIOS revision in conjunction with a new Radeon
hardware init DLKM is required to use the new Rev B

sam was changed to now only report the depth of one
	    overlay plane buffer.

When the DISPLAY variable is fully qualified (e.g.
machinename.hp.com:0 instead of just machinename:0), and
when running the gamma tool and attempting to update the
XF86Config or X0screens file, an error message was
output due to sam believing machinename was a remote
system. Changing the XF86Config or X0screens file on a
	    remote system is not allowed.

	    Resolution:
Add additional parsing to sam so it correctly recognizes
	    fully qualified machine names.

	    ( SR: 8606308213 CR: JAGae71248 )
The tool does not change the gamma values for the
devices. The "Image" and "Image and Overlay" buttons do
	    not work either.

	    Resolution:
The Gamma Correction tool was updated to work correctly
on these devices. Device driver changes were also made.
Note that the tool's behavior is dependent on the
image/overlay plane configuration of the device. See
the "Help" text within the tool itself (accessible via
the "Help" button on the tool) for more details.

	    (SR: 8606313395 CR: JAGae76193 )
The Gamma Correction tool "Cancel" button does not
"Cancel" any gamma changes, but rather behaves just like
the "OK" button (ie. saves the changes).

	    Resolution:
The Gamma Correction tool was changed so that "Cancel"
really does "Cancel" gamma changes made since the tool
	    was brought up

	    ( SR: 8606324111 CR: JAGae86576 )
The ATI FireGL4 driver was incorrectly assuming
that the overlay planes were enabled in some cases. In
addition, there was a case where image plane data was
incorrectly copied at the wrong time.

	    Resolution:
The driver now checks if the overlay planes are enabled
prior to performing some window move operations. In
addition, the image plane data is only copied once when
overlay planes are disabled (and DRI is enabled).

The function name did not exist.

	    Resolution:
'sam' now uses the correct function name, so the name
	    resolves at runtime.

	    ( SR: 8606338933 CR: JAGae99879 )
'sam' would properly switch the devices, the the device
icons would also switch, making it appear that the
	    change did not occur.

	    Resolution:
'sam' now sorts the device icons in a manner such that
they will remain in the same position on the screen
during its execution. As a result, it is easier to
visually detect that the new graphics device has been
	    configured.

	    ( SR: 8606308221 CR: JAGae71256 )
Sam should not allow the user to select "Vertical SLS"
as an option when it detects an ATI FireGL4 graphics
	    device.

	    Resolution:
'sam' no longer presents an active "Vertical SLS" toggle
as a configuration option on the ATI FireGL4 graphics
	    device

	    ( SR: 8606339081 CR: JAGaf00017 )
Xvfb did not recognize that the IPv4-mapped address of

	    - Support added for future maximum length expansion of
	    nodename and hostname.
	    - Support added for the ATI Radeon 7500 graphics card

	PHSS_30505:
Rearchitected setmon for the following graphics cards:
ATI FireGL4, ATI FireGL X1, ATI FireGL Z1. As of this
patch setmon no longer advertises monitor or graphics
card timings that may or may not be supported by the
monitor or graphics card. The new setmon communicates
with the X server to get the list of supported timings
that the driver has determined are valid through use of
DDC and internal logic. The output of setmon has
	    changed with the rearchitecture.

	PHSS_30502:
	    ( SR: 8606347981 CR: JAGaf08803 )
The ability to dynamically disconnect/reconnect USB
input devices has been added to the Xserver. As a
result, if USB keyboard and mouse devices are removed
from the system, the Xserver will be able to use them
when they are reconnected to the host
