prior to completion, requiring login via the serial
console to resolve.

- A user with Administrative access will no longer be

- When a user signs out of the Web GUI connection
without using the "Sign Out" link, the user will now
only remain in the system for 5 minutes until the

The following features, fixes and enhancements appear in
PDC firmware revision 45.11:
----------------------------------------------------------
- Enabled support for PA-8900 processors.
- Added support for a total of 8, 4GB DIMMs increasing
the maximum system memory size from 24GB to 32GB.
- Added 30 second delay after a "ser pdt clear" command
at the BCH Main Menu to allow manual power down of the
system and replacement of a bad DIMM without requiring
rotation of all remaining DIMMs.
- Added support for future 4GB Fiber Channel Host Bus
Adapters.
- In previous revisions with a four port lan card
installed, a "ser scsi default" command at the BCH
Main Menu may incorrectly display the following error:
"ERROR: failed IODC write for path: 0x1000400".
- In previous revisions a "deconfigured:stopped"
processor may incorrectly be displayed as being in an
"unknown" state when using the BCH Main Menu "in pr"
command to view processor status.
- In previous revisions when performing a "sea ipl"
from the BCH Main Menu, any device that does not have
a bootable lif may display a "bad lif magic" message
while logging a "BOOT_BAD_LIF_MAGIC_OTHER" event.
- Any updates to the system clock at the BCH Main Menu
or the Operating System will now always be reflected
in the Management Processor without requiring a system
reset.
- Autoboot will no longer be halted if the System Event
Log is full.
- In previous versions multiple Single Bit Errors with
MEM_CORR_ERR and MEM_MULTIPLE_ERRORS_DETECTED events
may cause the system to hang during power on self test.
The following features, fixes and enhancements appear in
BMC firmware revision 03.50:

- Enhanced the CLI user interface.
- Enhanced the function of the System and Attention LEDs.
- Improved event reporting after a BMC reset.
- If a voltage or temperature condition occurs and powers
down the system, a fatal event will now be logged in
the System Event Log and the front panel LED will be
red.
- An informational 'SEL Time Set' event will now only be
logged to the SEL upon update of the Baseboard
Management Controllers internal clock if the time
change is greater than 30 seconds to prevent the System
Event Log from filling up with timestamps.
- In previous revisions BMC may intermittently reset the
System Event Logs timestamp to 49.7 days in the past.
The following features, fixes and enhancements appear in
iLO MP firmware revision E.03.15:

- The View Console Button in the Remote Console tab of
the iLO Web Console has been moved so that it can be
easily viewed by all display resolutions.
- Reducing the Microsoft (R) Internet Explorer web
browser size will no longer cause the Main tab bar
options to disappear.
- In previous versions a user who has Console only access
may incorrectly receive the following error when
attempting to view the Remote Serial Console through
the iLO Web Console: "The user does not have sufficient
privileges to execute this command".
- In previous versions the IPMI over LAN may not be
restarted if an iLO MP firmware update fails.
- After updating firmware to E.03.13 an MP reset may
occur while configuring the LAN via the LC command.
This has been fixed in E.03.15.
- Microsoft (R) Internet Explorer will now successfully
launch an iLO Web Console for MP hostnames containing
hyphens.
- In previous versions after updating to E.03.13 the MP
Security Options may not always be set to Enabled.
Now when performing an MP firmware update they will be
defaulted to Enable if no Security Options exist,
otherwise the existing Security Options will be
retained.
- Any URL request received at port 80 will now return an
HTTP_NOT_FOUND error code unless the requested URL is
the home page.
- In previous versions the 'SO -options -fwpci enable'
command may fail in CLI.
- In previous versions if the System LED is flashing
and the BMC is reset via the MP 'RB' command the
System LED will be incorrectly turned off.
- The 'lc -all default" command will no longer fail if
DHCP is enabled.
- Odd length packets will now be handled correctly with
DHCP enabled.
- A port scan of the MP will no longer cause an MP hang.

Installation Instructions:

before installing this patch.

1. Back up your system before installing a patch.
2. Login as root.
3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.
4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:
cd /tmp
sh PHSS_36166
5. Run swinstall to install the patch:
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true \
-s /tmp/PHSS_36166.depot
By default swinstall will archive the original software in
/var/adm/sw/save/PHSS_36166. If you do not wish to retain a
copy of the original software, include the patch_save_files
option in the swinstall command above:

WARNING: If patch_save_files is false when a patch is installed,
the patch cannot be deinstalled. Please be careful
when using this feature.

Special Installation Instructions:
1. This patch will only install and update the firmware
on these systems:
9000/800/rp3410
9000/800/rp3440
9000/800/rp3440#1
If you wish to install the patch on a different system even
though it does not apply, you can force the installation of
the patch by touching the file '/tmp/force_patch_install'
before installing the patch. This may be useful when
creating a 'golden' archive image for Ignite-UX that may be
used on several different hardware platforms.
If the patch is installed on a system other than those
listed above, it will not modify the system firmware so no
harm will occur.
2. If this patch is uninstalled it will not uninstall/
downgrade the firmware installed by the patch and the
firmware installed by the patch will remain loaded after
the patch is removed.
3. The firmware update is accomplished by temporarily
modifying the autoboot file on the primary boot disk.
To identify the disk, patch assumes that the primary boot
disk is the first disk listed in the /stand/bootconf file.
To ensure the firmware update is successful, please use the
setboot(1M) and ioscan(1M) commands to verify that the
primary boot disk is the first disk listed in the
/stand/bootconf file. If it is not, modify the bootconf
file appropriately. Please reference the man page for
bootconf(4) for information on this file.
4. It is recommended that the firmware update is performed
outside of an OS install or Update-UX session. If a firmware
update is performed, it will be excluded from installation
to ensure that OS install or Update UX is successful.
5. The firmware update will be excluded from installation
if the firmware revision in the patch is the same and older
than the one the system is running on. This will ensure
that no un-necessary system reboot occurs.
6. Any future firmware versions in the system can be
downgraded with firmware in this patch by touching the file
'/tmp/force_patch_install' before installing the patch as
well as removing any superseding patches.
7. The firmware update will be excluded from installation
if the system is running in a VPAR session. To update the
firmware, shut down all VPAR's and reboot the server into
standalone mode using the primary path.
8. The firmware update will be excluded from installation
if the autoboot flag is not set. This is to ensure that the
end-to-end firmware update process goes smoothly without
user intervention once the patch installation is started.
Please use setboot(1M) command to set the autoboot flag
on prior to installing the patch.
9. The firmware update will be excluded from installation
if the BMC Administrator Password is set. To update the
firmware, clear the password by interacting with the
MP's Command Menu and use the 'BP' command.
10. The firmware update will be aborted if the currently
installed MP firmware revision is less than E.02.29. In
order to upgrade firmware using this patch first
update the MP firmware to E.02.29 and then install this
patch.
11. If the currently installed MP firmware revision is
E.03.13 or later, the MP firmware update will fail
if the "Allow MP Firmware upgrade via PCI" option is
Disabled in the MP Security Options menu. To update
the firmware using this patch, enable this option in
the MP Security Options Menu.
12. Prior to updating the iLO MP firmware a MP reset
needs to occur via the "XD-R" command in order to free
up enough contiguous memory.
